Back in 1979, New York Islanders Billy Smith became the very first goaltender to be credited with a goal in NHL history.

The Montreal Canadiens won the very first of their 24 Stanley Cups more than 1 century ago, during the 1915-16 hockey season.

Did You Know? 

Maple Leafs tickets are the hardest to get in the NHL league. The organization claims to have sold out every single game since the late 30’s.

 

  • San Jose Sharks

Did You Know? 

When the Gunds were awarded their new team back 1990, they launched a naming contest to create excitement.  The first-place was “Blades” and because of its association with weapons they decided to go with the second-place the “Sharks”.

  • Boston Bruins

Did You Know? 

The famous “B” logo was first introduced during the 1948-49 NHL hockey season making it 70 years old during the 2018-19 NHL hockey season.

 

  •  Chicago Blackhawks

Did You Know? 

The Hawks were sold to Frederic McLaughlin back in 1926, only one month after the NHL had awarded this expansion franchise to the then Boston Bruins owner, Charles Adams.  It is in memory of his nicknamed World War I Division ‘Black Hawk Division” that McLaughlin named the legendary team we know today as the Chicago Blackhawks.

Did You Know? 

The Original Ottawa Senators Team was first established back in 1886 and played with only 7 players on each side.  They were back then known under the Ottawa Silver Seven.

 

  •  Vegas Golden Knights

Did You Know? 

Vegas Golden Knights coach, Gerard Gallant, made history during his hockey player career with the Detroit Red Wings during the 1988-89 season.  He made 30 goals, 50 assists with 200 penalty minutes!!
